WEDDINGS AT THE GUILDHALL BATH

Midweek Weddings at Beautiful Guildhall in Bath.

Ah, Bath! Beautiful, historic and picturesque Bath. I’m a little biased, living in this part of the world, but it really is a stunning backdrop for a midweek wedding. In particular, I’m singing the praises of Guildhall, home to the Bath Registry Office. It’s the perfect spot for a smaller midweek wedding. I’m also perfectly suited to be the photographer of your midweek wedding at Guildhall! Here’s why…

About Guildhall

You can’t get a more historic venue in the centre of Bath. Guildhall is a Grade I listed Georgian beauty of a building, situated in the heart of Bath. It’s also around the corner from the beautiful Parade Gardens, which sits next to the River Avon. It’s such a picturesque area, giving you so much scope for lots of amazing photographs.

But I’m getting ahead of myself!

Guildhall houses the Bath Registry Office, with several gorgeous rooms for licensed ceremonies. They even have one overlooking the Abbey! There are several other rooms there, which are also licensed for civil ceremonies. The Banqueting Room, with its many pillars and high ceilings, is perfect for a bit of grandeur for your day.

It doesn’t matter what size midweek wedding you’re planning either. From the small and intimate, to the bigger more elaborate affair, Guildhall can accommodate them all.

Why pick me to photograph your Guildhall wedding?

So why should you pick me to photograph your midweek wedding at Guildhall? Well, Bath is an area I am beyond familiar with. In fact, Bath and I are like old friends. I know all the good spots to hang out!

I’ve photographed many weddings at Guildhall, which means I’ve got to know the registrars there very well. And I’d like to think we all get on and work together well too! It also means I know about all the pretty spots inside the building to take photographs, as well as all the perfect spots outside.

It’s a venue I can bring a lot of previous knowledge and experience to, to give you the best possible plans for your day. Also, it’s one of the most exquisite spots in England, and it’s not too far from home. So, I love just about any excuse to get there and photograph it all over again!

And once the ceremony is over…

IMy top tip is to head over to Parade Gardens, just a 3 minute walk away. Parade Gardens sits right on the River Avon. It’s around 2-3 acres in size, so there are plenty of places to roam and get some photographs taken. I especially love the views of Pulteney Bridge and the weir. And should the weather be a bit changeable, there are even some under cover options which is always a bonus!

The gardens are open every day from 10am. There is an entry fee for non-residents, so I’d recommend ringing ahead to avoid any queuing. You can pre-book large parties this way as well.

And afterwards, I would recommend taking the two of you for a spin around Bath town, for some lovely romantic couple shots.

Short midweek wedding packages

I offer short midweek or winter wedding photography packages (available January and February), which work well with venues just like Guildhall. A 2-hour package will cover the ceremony, confetti shots, group photos and some romantic couple shots around the town. I currently charge £300 for this, so it’s a great option if you’re getting married on a smaller budget.

Unfortunately, I can’t offer short coverage on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays, unless it’s very last minute (i.e. within the next 2 weeks!) and I don’t already have a booking.
