Caswell House tucked out of the way in the Oxfordshire countryside, is a place steeped in history. Dating back to the 15th-century, this beautiful stone building also has an ancient orchard and it’s very own natural spring! It is the perfect wedding venue, with beautiful gardens to the front and back of the property. So, it’s impossible to not be able to capture a wedding couple in front of a glorious sunset. As long as the sun is out, of course!

Becky and Ollie got married at the stunning Caswell House earlier this year. It was one of those perfect winter days. The sky was blue, the sun was shining and the air was crisp and clean. Being their Caswell House wedding photographer was a total honour. Thank you so much to Amelia from Fresh Shoot Studios for recommending me to this adorable couple! It’s always a pleasure to capture a wedding like this one, with lots of love and laughter and an exceptional venue as a backdrop.

Becky and her bridesmaids got ready at the venue in a dedicated space set up for bridal prep. Meanwhile, Ollie and the boys got ready at a cottage on the grounds of Caswell House. From the moment I arrived, I could see great attention to detail had been made with every aspect of this wedding. The thoughtful gifts and laughter and tears before Becky had even got her dress on told me how this day was going to play out! Kudos goes to Katie Reay Scott for her great makeup skills. And isn’t Becky’s Bride by Aster wedding dress stunning? Over at the cottage, there were plenty of smiles and a fair amount of pants-flashing going on!

A wedding for wanderer’s souls in the heart of the Cotswolds”

Becky and Ollie were married in the beautiful barns, with their eye-catching fairy lights draped all along the ceiling. Becky walked down the aisle with her Dad, who got a bit teary, bless him. It was easy to see how proud he was of having this honour.

The ceremony itself was short but perfectly formed. I loved that Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116 was read out: “Let me not to the marriage of true minds admit impediments.” The gorgeous hooped flower display by the talented bunch over at Fabulous Flowers added a lovely personal touch.

After the ceremony, there was confetti and canapes before we got some lovely group photos with that stunning winter sunlight I love so much. If you get it at the right time, it is perfect for wedding photos. So, I’m pleased it was cooperating on Becky and Ollie’s special day.

We managed to get some adorable couple shots in the walled gardens before Becky and Ollie and all their guests headed into dinner.

I particularly loved the travel theme that ran through Becky and Ollie’s entire day. The table centrepieces were perfectly thought out, with little details like the map table names and runners. They were a fantastic touch. Even the menu took on the theme as the ‘In flight menu’, which made me chuckle. And the stunning cake by All Cakes and Sizes was exquisite. It even had a world map painted on it, which looked incredible!

After dinner came the speeches and then the evening entertainment got underway. These guys went all out, with a casino supplied by Sevens Casino Nights, and a game to get guests socialising with each other. I think that’s such a great way to get guests mixing with one another, especially if they’ve never met each other before.

Once that beautiful cake was cut, Becky and Ollie kicked off the dancing with their first spin on the dancefloor. I left them and their guests throwing shapes to the talented sounds of The Relays (booked via Bands for Hire) who serenaded the evening perfectly.

I’m so pleased Becky and Ollie booked me to photograph their wedding at Caswell House. It was my first time shooting at this beautiful venue and I can’t wait to get back there and photograph more weddings in the future!

“I’m love with all the photos. You are amazing!
