One of the many things that I love about being a wedding photographer is discovering new places, I often meet up with couples at locations that I’ve never visited before, this trip was initiated from Stewart & Amanda’s wedding which I shot at The Manor House in West Bexington last September. On their wedding day I arrived early and headed down to the beach to get in the zone. The weather was beautiful and I wished that I could have spent more time there. This week after the first warm weekend of the year it felt like spring was in the air, my youngest daughter was away on a school trip and the sun was promising to make an appearance so a perfect opportunity to re-visit with the other half and the beagles.
We walked from Cogden Beach to West Bexington which was pretty hard going on the pebbles lugging two cameras, the sun was shining though and I was really looking forward to a lager & lime at The Manor House Hotel in West Bexington. We arrived just as it shut for the afternoon so hiked all the way back parched. We stayed the night in Holworth at a fantastic B&B, a little gem tucked into the hillside overlooking the sea. If you’re a lover of remote areas and the wilderness check it out for a romantic weekend or even a honeymoon. Fabulous cotton sheets, super gardens and décor fit for royalty; oh and a mighty fine cooked breakfast.
On the way home we went past a little church which was so pretty we had to stop the car for a nosey around, it’s derelict but open to the public and it’s beautiful. I’m sure if someone wanted to get married there it could be arranged! Check it out HERE
