Located just a mile away from my house, The Pig Hotel is tucked away in the folds of the Mendip Hills. The venue is a beautiful boutique hotel that I love to visit with my family and friends on special occasions. Its shabby chic style and cosy sofas makes it the perfect venue for a wedding. The venue only hosts 2-3 weddings a year where the couple have exclusive use of the hotel, so the beautiful Hayley and lovely Anthony were lucky to book this gorgeous venue for their big day and I was lucky they booked me to shoot it!
I met Hayley and Anthony back in the spring to discuss their October wedding. The couple were getting married at 4pm, so wanted coverage from late afternoon. Therefore, I met the boys the day before while they were clay pigeon shooting to get to know them a tad more before the big day. Hayley and Ant wanted a mix of documentary style photography, and more stylised formal shots. So on the day, I set up my lighting kit in a decadent room where I could shoot Dolce and Gabbana style formal but relaxed shots of family and friends.
One of the most breathtaking details of the day were the flower arrangements by Passion Flowers that decorated the entire space. They were so beautiful, nothing else was needed to make the venue look spectacular. At 4pm, the stunning Hayley started to walk down the aisle with her father and her adorable nieces to meet the very dapper Anthony. After a short and sweet ceremony, the guests gathered outside where I took a big group photo before getting some romantic shots showing off Hayley’s jaw-dropping gown.
In the dining room, guests settled in and speeches were given by Hayley’s dad, Anthony, and Anthony’s dad before food was served. With full tummies from the delicious pork dinner, the newlyweds took to the dancefloor for their first dance before the party started and everyone danced the night away.
Congratulations to both Hayley and Anthony on their marriage and such a perfect day!
