Court Farm Wedding Photography

Hannah & Keiren

I was seriously excited about shooting Hannah & Kieran’s countryside wedding at Court Farm in Somerset. On my first visit to the wedding venue I fell in love with the whole rustic outdoorsy theme. The open barn was the entrance way to a marquee which hosted the wedding breakfast and, when the sun went down, doubled as an amazing party space. With a live band, a warm summer breeze and the fire pit glowing it was my idea of perfection as far as wedding venues go.

The day started at Hannah’s parents’ house in Bath; the home was brimming with happy people getting ready for the big day. The weather was perfect – well, slightly too sunny for my liking, but one shouldn’t complain after the wet June we had this year.

A posh car was waiting to usher Hannah to the local church at Claverton Down. Kieran, looking rather dapper in his blue suit, waited patiently for his bride. I do believe he had a little tear of happiness in his eye as he watched the beautiful Hannah commence her journey down the aisle. The newlyweds left the church to the most incredible confetti shower. We fired straight into some family group photos before all heading off to the reception at Court Farm.

On arrival at Court Farm the guests were treated to Pimms and canapés in the outdoor courtyard. A violinist played while folk mingled and enjoyed the amazing weather and countryside environment. After taking some romantic portraits the happy couple entered the beautifully-dressed marquee to raucous applause from their guests before being seated and treated to a huge wedding feast.

Laughter could be heard for miles around (slight exaggeration) as the speeches commenced. The first dance is definitely worth a mention; I think it was a Fleetwood Mac track, and I didn’t see this coming – Mrs Spence was twirled and tossed around like a rag doll by the over-enthusiastic Mr Spence! It was undoubtedly the best first dance I have witnessed as a wedding photographer in the last three years.

If you are getting married at Court Farm in Somerset and looking for a wedding photographer to capture your day with a creative documentary approach just get in touch; I would love to shoot here again soon.
